Most of the Cobbler Wobbegong's close relatives in the Carpetshark order (Orectolobiformes) are small but this fellow can grow larger than 9 feet in length. They are generally "ambush predators", that is, they lie quietly camouflaged against the coral until an unsuspecting fish starts rummaging around their snouts. Then, wham! - the wobbegong scores a meal.
